Woman In A Lampshade

Author: Elisabeth Jolley
Publisher: Scoresby, Victoria: Penguin Random House, 1992

Annotation:
Elisabeth Jolley’s short stories and novels are equally disturbing and humorous, and they show her very distinctive view of the world . In this collection, Jolley gives us a few stories that shine, such as "The Paper Children", "The Shed" or "The Last Crop" which have characters who wear their ‘quirkiness’ on their sleeve; and some stories that will leave you confused about the unexpected situation they get themselves into.

Jolley is known for her other book of short stories, Five Acre Virgin and Other Stories and her novels The Newspaper of Claremont Street, Miss Peabody's Inheritance and The Well (which was made into a film in the mid-90s).

Would appeal to the mums who like reading Australian authors - and the dads who aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zone!

Also available as an audio book.
